Limerick in Bloom

As of 2015, the Limerick in Bloom competition is now part of the Limerick Going for Gold Environmental Improvement Grant & Competition.

Limerick in Bloom

Limerick City and County Council in conjunction with sponsor JP McManus Foundation host the competition, which serves as a motivational mechanism for small local-based groups throughout the county to enhance the visual impact of their settlements by means of flower, tree and shrub planting.

This category relates to appropriate planting and floral displays, use of colour, perennial planting and planting schemes that attract biodiversity. Hanging baskets, window boxes are relevant in this section.

Limerick In Bloom adjudication takes place during the Summer and considers factors such as colour, size, variety, location, and appropriateness of the various planting schemes, as well as the management of litter.
