UNESCO Learning Cities gather at University of Limerick City Campus

Learning Limerick hosted a UNESCO Learning Cities Seminar in University of Limerick’s City Centre Campus, Sarsfield Street, Limerick today (26 May 2022) as the flagship event for this week’s Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival. The event featured guest speakers from the Irish Network of Learning Cities, including Belfast, Dublin, Cork, and Derry/ Strabane.

Help protect water quality this silage season

With the silage season now in full swing, Limerick City and County Council is appealing to landowners and users to ensure they do everything they can to protect the water quality across the county.

It is essential that every effort is made to ensure that all effluents arising are collected, stored and managed so that water quality is not compromised.

Family Fun Day to take place to celebrate Africa Day 2022

A family fun day incorporating multicultural music and dance performances, fashion show, exhibition and food sampling will take place this weekend to celebrate Africa Day. It takes place in the Hunt Museum Garden from 12 noon on Sunday 29th May 2022 and will allow participants to gain a richer understanding of the cultural significance of Africans and other immigrants in Limerick today.

Family bike parade and fun day to round off Limerick Bike Week

A family bike parade and fun day will take place this Sunday 22nd May to round off another successful Bike Week in Limerick.

Starting at 2pm in Arthur’s Quay Park, the highlight of the afternoon will be a group cycle with Mayor Daniel Butler leading the charge around the Three Bridges Route. There will be plenty of other family entertainment to enjoy including music, face painters, and a puppet show.

‘Meet your new employer’ at Our Lady of Lourdes Jobs Fair

Residents in the Regeneration communities and further afield are being encouraged to attend a Jobs Fair in the area, to ‘meet their new employer’.

The Jobs Fair is taking place this Wednesday 18th May in Our Lady of Lourdes National School, Rosbrien from 6pm - 8pm.

Limerick projects honoured at the Pride of Place national finals

Two Limerick based community projects were honoured at the All-Ireland Pride of Place community awards held in Killarney, County Kerry.

Draw Out Limerick was runner up in the Creative Place Initiative category, with Lough Gur Development Co-operative Society runner up in the Community Tourism Initiative category.

Stage 1 approval granted for 20 new homes in Moyross

Limerick City and County Council has received Stage 1 approval for 20 new homes in Cliona Park, Moyross and associated infrastructural upgrade works to Moyross Avenue from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

A new anti-racism campaign, Limerick United Against Racism, is inviting everyone in Limerick to help #RootOutRacismLK by talking about racism with your family, friends, colleagues or teammates on World Diversity Day, 21st May.
