Eyes to the Skies as Irish Air Corps flyover to kick-off Riverfest Limerick with a wow!

Riverfest Limerick will get off to a spectacular start this weekend with a special flyover by the Air Corps. All eyes will be firmly fixed to the skies above Limerick from 1.30pm on Friday 29 April for the flyover which will feature a coordinated low formation flight display by the highly skilled Air Corps Cadets, marking the start of the first in-person Riverfest since 2019.

Global Irish Festival Series to attract diaspora home to Limerick this year

The Limerick City and County Council, Fáilte Ireland and Department of Foreign Affairs initiative, aims to harness diaspora links for the benefit of local and community tourism.

The Global Irish Festival Series has been officially launched internationally by the Minister of State for Overseas Development Aid and Diaspora, Colm Brophy TD, at the Consulate General of Ireland in New York.

Creative artists required for special projects around climate action

Limerick City and County Council is looking for five Artists, Creatives or Creative Industry Partners to work collaboratively with a Limerick Community to explore an aspect of decarbonisation that matters to them.

‘Paudcast’ star Padraig O’Callaghan has been named as Limerick Person of the Year for 2021.

The digital media star was announced as the winner at a ceremony in the Clayton Hotel Limerick, marking the first time in three years the event has been able to return to its usual format, where the monthly winners gathered to be formally honoured.

Historic day for King John’s Castle as ownership reverts to Limerick City and County Council

A new chapter has begun in the long history of King John’s Castle in Limerick with the transfer of ownership and business operations to Limerick City and County Council.

All business operations and staff at King John’s Castle have transferred from Shannon Heritage to Discover Limerick DAC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Limerick City and County Council, established specifically to operate and develop key tourism attractions in Limerick that will strengthen Limerick as a destination and attract increased visitor numbers.

Special ceremony of remembrance and reflection to mark impact of Covid-19 on society

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Daniel Butler will host a ceremony of Remembrance and Reflection in the courtyard of Merchant’s Quay this Sunday 10th April at 1pm to remember those who lost their lives during the Covid-19 pandemic and to pay tribute to those who contributed to the fight locally and nationally against the virus.
