Sustainability a key focus for European Week for Waste Reduction

Limerick City and County Council and the Local Enterprise Office Limerick along with Cairde Social Enterprises, Adapt Shop and Tait Enterprises have joined forces to celebrate European Week for Waste Reduction running between 20 and 28 November with a series ‘Lunch & Learn’ webinars focusing on sustainability and the circular economy.

Toll Cottages along the banks of the River Shannon among latest tranche of derelict properties to be CPO’ed

The historic Toll Cottages, overlooking the River Shannon, at Verdant Place off Thomond Bridge are among 21 derelict properties, Limerick City and County Council is planning to acquire.

Limerick City and County Council has published notification of its intention to compulsorily acquire the properties located across Limerick city and county using its powers under the Derelict Sites Act 1990.

Exploring and Celebrating Food Diversity in Limerick

Students from the University of Limerick and members of migrant communities in Limerick recently came together as part of an intercultural project to improve knowledge of healthy eating and diverse food cultures present in Limerick.  People from four different parts of the globe; Nigeria, Bangladesh, Poland, and Palestine, took part in the project with MSc students in Human Nutrition & Dietetics in UL.
