Kerry-based poet winner of this year’s Michael Hartnett Poetry Award

The Kerry-based poet, Ceaití Ní Bheildiúin, is this year’s winner of the Michael Hartnett Poetry Award for her collection in Irish, Agallamh Sa Cheo, Cnoc Bhréanainn (Coiscéim, 2019). She will travel to Newcastle West to accept the award on Thursday 30 September 2021 which is the opening night of the annual Éigse Michael Hartnett Literary and Arts Festival.

43 new homes in Rathbane development ready for tenants

The first ever tenants for a new housing development in Rathbane have received their keys from the Mayor. Forty-three new homes have been built in Rathbane, adjacent to Old Christians GAA Club, comprising of 14 two-storey and 29 three-storey homes.

Mayor pays tribute to All-Ireland Champions

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has led the tributes to the Limerick hurlers who have successfully retained their All-Ireland title with a pulsating win over Cork in Croke Park. It is the first time in the history of Limerick hurling that they have won back-to-back titles and it is their third crown in four years.
