Transformative €10 million Limerick Greenway opens to public

The Limerick Greenway, the newly renovated 40km scenic off-road walking and cycling route connecting the three market towns of Rathkeale, Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale, opens to the public today (1 July). Earmarked to be transformative for the region, the €10 million visionary project is the biggest outdoor tourism amenity project ever undertaken in Limerick by Limerick City and County Council.

Liam makes a trip to the Mayor as the Mayor visits GAA clubs across Limerick city and county

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has welcomed some Very VIPs to the Council’s Corporate Headquarters in Merchant’s Quay.

The Liam MacCarthy Cup, along with the six other cups that Limerick GAA won in 2020 were brought to Limerick City and County Council by the captains of the Limerick senior and minor hurling and senior football teams on a courtesy visit by Limerick GAA to Limerick City and County Council.

Mayor honours Limerick region’s frontline healthcare workers for their commitment during Covid-19 pandemic

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has honoured the healthcare workers on the front line of the battle against Covid-19.

In a low key but hugely significant ceremony, governed by government health guidelines, Mayor Michael Collins presented scrolls to representatives of the UL Hospitals Group, National Ambulance Service - Mid-West, Department of Public Health - Mid-West, and HSE Mid-West Community Healthcare.

World-renowned Fiddle Convention to take place at the University Of Limerick

The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick in partnership with Limerick City and County Council and Creative Ireland is delighted to announce that the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention will be held at the University of Limerick (virtually) from 23-27 June 2021. The North Atlantic Fiddle Convention (NAFCo) is a cultural exchange and meeting place for artists, academics, and enthusiasts.
