Joint Statement from Mid-West Major Emergency Management Group about upcoming Bank Holiday weekend

The people of Limerick are being urged to enjoy the June Bank Holiday in a safe manner and are reminded that Covid remains in society.

The Mid-West Major Emergency Management Group comprising of Limerick, Clare and Tipperary local authorities, the HSE and UL Hospitals Group and An Garda Síochána, is asking people in Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary to enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend safely and responsibly to halt the spread of Covid-19 in the community.

Active Travel is high on the agenda for N/M20 Cork to Limerick Project

The N/M20 Cork to Limerick Project has the potential to deliver 80 kilometres of transformative active travel (walking and cycle) infrastructure, connecting together the communities of Cork, Blarney, Mallow, Buttevant, Charleville, Bruree, Croom, Patrickswell and Limerick. Music Generation is Coming to Limerick County

Limerick County is the latest area to commence participation in Music Generation, Ireland’s national music education programme which strives to transform children and young people’s lives by giving them opportunities to create, play and perform music in their own communities. ‘Music Generation Limerick County’ will be established as part of the programme’s journey towards nationwide expansion.

An Bord Pleanála grants permission for King’s Island Flood Relief Scheme

Limerick City and County Council has welcomed the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant planning permission for the King’s Island Flood Relief Scheme. The scheme comprises of a series of flood relief measures around the perimeter of King’s Island including new and upgraded flood defence walls which incorporate glazed flood defence panels and earthen embankments generally set on the inside of existing embankments.
