Children across Limerick are being invited to take part in this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg on 12 June.

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has called on the people of Limerick to once again show their true Limerick spirit to help reduce the rates of Covid-19 infections in the city and county.

Limerick City and County Council has established an Autism Working Group to explore the development of Limerick becoming an autism friendly location.

The Mid-West Major Emergency Management Group comprising of Limerick, Clare and Tipperary local authorities, the HSE and UL Hospitals Group and An Garda Síochána, is asking people in Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary to enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend safely and responsibly to halt the spread of Covid-19 in the community.

The N/M20 Cork to Limerick Project has the potential to deliver 80 kilometres of transformative active travel (walking and cycle) infrastructure, connecting together the communities of Cork, Blarney, Mallow, Buttevant, Charleville, Bruree, Croom, Patrickswell and Limerick. Limerick County is the latest area to commence participation in Music Generation, Ireland’s national music education programme which strives to transform children and young people’s lives by giving them opportunities to create, play and perform music in their own communities. ‘Music Generation Limerick County’ will be established as part of the programme’s journey towards nationwide expansion.

Limerick City and County Council has welcomed the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant planning permission for the King’s Island Flood Relief Scheme. The scheme comprises of a series of flood relief measures around the perimeter of King’s Island including new and upgraded flood defence walls which incorporate glazed flood defence panels and earthen embankments generally set on the inside of existing embankments.

Limerick City and County Council has appointed RPS Consulting Engineers to work on the Limerick City and Environs Flood Relief Scheme after the Office of Public Works sanctioned the appointment with funding provided through the National Development Plan 2018-2030.
