Limerick City and County Council has welcomed the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant planning permission for the King’s Island Flood Relief Scheme. The scheme comprises of a series of flood relief measures around the perimeter of King’s Island including new and upgraded flood defence walls which incorporate glazed flood defence panels and earthen embankments generally set on the inside of existing embankments.
Limerick City and County Council has appointed RPS Consulting Engineers to work on the Limerick City and Environs Flood Relief Scheme after the Office of Public Works sanctioned the appointment with funding provided through the National Development Plan 2018-2030.
