Chinese Community gifts PPE gear to Limerick

A further 10,000 PPE face masks have been donated to the people of Limerick, this time from the Chinese community in Limerick on behalf of the Irish Chinese Information Centre. In one of his final engagements as Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Mayor Michael Sheahan received the consignment from Limerick-resident and President of the Irish Chinese Information Centre, Candy Cheung.

Top US film editor to deliver online workshop for local filmmakers

One of the world’s most famous feature film editors, Joe Bini is the latest expert to give the Wednesday Workshop to local and regional filmmakers. The free online event will take place on Wednesday 1 July at 2pm and is the final event in the current series of webinars run by Innovate Limerick through Film in Limerick for aspiring and practicing filmmakers in the Mid-West.

The people of Limerick are being set a challenge to be active this Sunday 28 June as part of the Sport Ireland National BeActive DayLimerick Sports Partnership and the other 28 Local Sports Partnerships around the country are coming together to celebrate a day of physical activity and sport and want you to join in and be active.

Countdown is on for re-opening of Limerick City Gallery of Art

A new audio exhibition has been installed in Limerick City Gallery of Art counting down to when the gallery re-opens the public on Monday 29 June. The Blurry Clock has been installed at the main entrance to the building and is a collaboration with the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.

New Limerick Roundabouts Sponsorship Scheme is all about biodiversity

Roundabouts have the potential to be so much more than traffic control features. They can also be attractive greenspaces, which greatly enhance the appearance of our cityscape and provide havens for biodiversity. With funding from the Heritage Council and as part of Limerick’s European Green Leaf Year, Limerick City and County Council has commissioned a series of stunning pollinator and biodiversity friendly landscaping schemes for eight of the city’s most prominent roundabouts.
