Limerick City and County Council has begun consultations in relation to trialling a range of innovative measures aimed at getting the city centre moving in the short-term and with an eye on its long-term transformation into a top urban destination. The proposed new measures aim to make Limerick more family friendly throughout the summer months.

Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC) has launched an exciting new competition to coincide with International Biodiversity day this Friday, 22nd May. Celebrating 2020’s theme Our Solutions Are in Nature, TLC is asking families and individuals to submit photos of nature in its element in their garden or local green.

Academy Award and Emmy winning director Guy Davidi will be the latest film industry professional to present at Film In Limerick’s Wednesday Workshop online. The Oscar nominated and Emmy Award winning director will join Film in Limerick on Wednesday 27 May 2020 at 2pm for a free online film masterclass on directing documentary films.

Limerick City and County Council is to host a webinar on Gardening for Biodiversity. The webinar will highlight the simple things we can all do to make our gardens, no matter how big or small, more attractive for wildlife.

Following the decision by the government to begin Phase 1 of the Roadmap for re-opening society and business, Limerick City and County Council is pleased the announced the immediate re-opening of the Great Southern Greenway Limerick and Lough Gur. The Council had closed these amenities in March and April as part of measures implemented to stop the spread of the coronavirus. 

A key step towards commencement later this year of the Opera Site campus set to give a vital reboot for the Limerick and Mid-West economy has been taken with the publication today of tenders for preliminary works at the site.

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick has become the first person to sign a Book of Condolences opened in memory of those who lost their lives to Covid-19. Mayor Michael Sheahan signed the online book of condolences on behalf of all the people of Limerick.
