Limerick City and County Council has today given local retailers a timely boost in the face of the Covid-19 crisis with the official launch of a FREE unique online platform to help them trade while their doors are closed, and connecting Limerick consumers with local suppliers for their shopping needs.

‘Meet the Funders’ free online seminar for filmmakers in the Mid-West

Innovate Limerick through Film in Limerick is to host an online workshop for local filmmakers on accessing film funding. Meet the Funders will take place on Wednesday 6 May at 2pm and is the latest in the Film in Limerick series of Wednesday Workshops open to anyone in the Mid-West with an interest in filmmaking.

Limerick City Centre undergoes a deep clean

Limerick City and County Council is capitalising on the restrictions under Covid-19 to give Limerick City Centre a deep clean. Street surfaces, street furniture and bins are getting cleaned as part of programme of works involving contractors Premier Cleaning, who are deep clean specialists.

Museums set to capture Limerick's experiences of Covid-19

Limerick Museum and the People's Museum have joined forces to establish an exciting and innovative project on Limerick’s experience of the Covid-19 pandemic. The two museums want the people of Limerick, both at home and abroad, to send them stories and pictures about their response to the crisis. These will be used in a joint exhibition to be held by both museums when things get back to normal.

Limerick City and County Council calls for an end to illegal dumping

Limerick City and County Council is calling for an end to illegal dumping after it has seen an increase in the number of complaints over the past number of weeks. Since the restrictions imposed by the government as part of plans to prevent the spread of Covid-19, there has been an increase in incidences of illegal dumping.

Council urges communities not to organise clean-ups or litter picks

Limerick City and County Council is advising all community groups, tidy towns’ groups and residents’ associations not to organise community clean-ups and litter picks at this time. Due to Covid-19 guidance and restrictions, as well as the Council concentrating on the provision of essential services, Limerick City and County Council is not in a position to facilitate such initiatives including the collection of the resulting rubbish and litter.
