Bridge of Tears in Newcastle West reopens following emergency works

Works have been completed on the Bridge of Tears in Newcastle West following emergency works. Limerick City and County Council is informing motorists and other road users that the east lane of the bridge has now re-opened to traffic and access from the bridge southbound to the R520 (Bruff) and R522 (Dromcollogher) has been restored.

SportsAbility Day to take place in UL

The 2019 SportsAbility Day for people with disabilities is on this Friday 15th November from 10-1pm in the University of Limerick Sports Arena. Limerick Sports Partnership is organising the event, which is open to all age groups and all abilities.

‘Three Muses: exploring art and identity’, a joint programme from three Limerick museums to inspire primary school pupils to explore visual art

An innovative arts programme for primary schools is launching this month, bringing together three Limerick cultural institutions: The Hunt Museum, Limerick City Gallery of Art and Limerick Museum. Pupils from schools across Limerick will discover the three collections through workshops and activities, developing their confidence and understanding in visual art, while exploring the theme of identity across the collections.

Christmas is coming as Light Up Limerick will kickstart a month of festive fun across Limerick

The magic of Christmas will descend on Limerick's O'Connell Street on Sunday 17 November when the Christmas lights are officially switched on. Limerick is gearing up for the festive season with the now traditional Light Up Limerick event expected to attract thousands of people onto the streets of city centre on Sunday 17 November to see the Christmas lights being turned on.
