Limerick City and County Council have urged farmers and silage contractors to redouble their efforts to eliminate silage effluent spillages from crops amid a particularly bad year for pollution so far. The call comes with second crop harvesting very much in full swing and a bumper crop anticipated due to strong growth over recent weeks.

The enduring legacy and importance of Limerick lace has been recognised by the Government this week with the confirmation that Limerick Lace is set to be included in a national inventory of our important cultural heritage.

Representatives from last year’s winning groups Athea Tidy Towns and Kilteely Tidy Towns were on hand to assist with the launch.

Limerick Twenty Thirty Strategic Development DAC (LTT), a strategic development company established by Limerick City and County Council, confirmed the news that its first major build in its transformational programme for disused iconic sites in the city and county, Gardens International, is now almost fully occupied.
