Limerick City and County Council wishes to clarify the future position of the Park Road Bottle Bank and Mini Recycling Centre.

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick is calling on everyone to help in the fight against litter. The call by the new mayor Michael Sheahan comes as Limerick falls down the IBAL Anti-Litter league.

Fine Gael’s Michael Sheahan has been elected the new Mayor of the City and County of Limerick. He was proposed by party colleague John Sheahan and seconded by Fianna Fáil’s Michael Collins. In a packed council chamber in Dooradoyle, family and friends of Cllr Sheahan gathered in expectation ahead of the election, including his three-month old only grandchild Courtney.

A new mural depicting what life was like on Sheare’s Street Kilmallock (then called High Street) from about 1560A.D. has been unveiled. The mural paints a view through the arch of Kings Castle, which would have been the route of the street.
