Public urged to make submissions by September.
Limerick City and County Council has set up a new ‘Virtual Room’ as part of the public consultation process for the draft Limerick Development Plan.
The ‘Virtual Room' is an online consultation room to allow members of the public to access a ‘virtual consultation’ of the draft plan.
At a time when the ‘traditional’ drop-in consultation evenings are not an option due to restrictions imposed as a result of Covid-19, the ‘Virtual Room’ allows a similar experience but from your own home.
By navigating the room, members of the public can:
- Listen to the welcome note from Senior Planner Maria Woods
- What the main overarching objectives are in the Draft Limerick Development Plan
- Navigate through the different volumes of the plan.
Information on the timeline and how to make a submission can also found within the room.
The ‘Virtual Room’ is in addition to the usual suite of channels available to the people of Limerick to aid in this initial public consultation process of the Limerick Development Plan.
Over the past two weeks, the Limerick Development Plan team has held seven face-to-face public meetings, in Limerick city, Kilmallock, Cappamore, Rathkeale and Newcastle West, which were by appointment only.
A webinar has also taken place.

Members of the public can also make a submission through our online portal MyPoint also accessible via Limerick.ie/Limerick-Development-Plan.
