The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Daniel Butler has welcomed the announcement of a €1.9m investment in Next Generation Medical Device Products at ITW Filtertek in Newcastle West.

Mayor Daniel Butler said: “This investment is a huge vote of confidence in the 67 employees and management team at Filtertek. The medical device manufacturer has been a mainstay for employment in Newcastle West for the past 40 years and the operations were strengthened with its acquisition by ITW Medical in 2007.”

“This investment of nearly €2million will allow Filtertek to plan for the future in Newcastle West, thus providing security to staff and the wider economy as we look to bolster and expand investment in the region.”

“The staff at IDA Ireland are instrumental in attracting investment into the wider Limerick area as all sectors and bodies must continue to work in partnership to ensure that Limerick is the location of choice for future investment.”
