The Mayor of the city and county of Limerick, Cllr Daniel Butler, has welcomed the announcement this morning that global superstar Ed Sheeran will perform at Thomond Park Stadium on Thursday 5th May 2022.
“I am delighted to see an artist of this calibre announced for Limerick today. It will be a major economic boost and is an example of Limerick’s status as a world-class destination for live events.”
The Mayor said he welcomes the re-opening of the arts and culture sector and today’s announcement couldn’t come on a more appropriate day.
“It is fantastic to have this announcement on Culture Night, as we prepare to celebrate the cultural, artistic and creative communities of our city and county. I hope to see many more events taking place in Limerick over the coming months as Ireland opens up and our live festival and events sector returns.”
