The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr James Collins has congratulated the Limerick senior hurlers on securing the Allianz National Hurling League Title in Croke Park yesterday.

Mayor James Collins said: “It was fantastic yesterday to see the Limerick hurlers return to Croke Park and continue their winning ways by securing the Allianz National Hurling League Title against a very hungry Waterford side.”

“It is the first time in 22 years that we have won the league and it is a great credit to John Kiely, Declan Hannon and the entire panel for their commitment and focus over the past number of months, since training for the 2019 season began.”

“Limerick is immensely proud of your achievements and we will continue to support you as you now turn your sights onto retaining the Liam MacCarthy Cup. Luimneach Abú.”
