Expert Advice given at sixth annual Tidy Towns seminar.

This Friday (06 April 2018) is the deadline to book your place for the sixth annual Tidy Towns seminar in Adare.

Community groups and organisations involved in the Tidy Towns competition are invited to attend Limerick City and County Council’s Annual Tidy Towns Seminar.

It takes place in Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick on Wednesday 11 April 2018.

Lorraine Power, who is a Tidy Towns Adjudicator, will be on hand to answers questions from the groups assembled and also give some information about what adjudicators in the national competition are looking for when they visit the length and breadth of the country looking for Ireland’s tidiest town.

Information will also be given about the newly formed Urban and Village Renewal Department in Limerick City and County Council and what action they are taking on derelict sites, and also how Tidy Towns can assist in identifying sites.

Sorcha Kavanagh from the Conscious Cup Campaign will speak about that they are doing to reduce the prevalence of single use disposable cups, while Limerick City and County Council’s Environmental Awareness Officer Sinead McDonnell will be on hand detailing what the council is doing to make people much more aware of their responsibilities when it comes to litter.

A total of 54 Tidy Towns groups from across Limerick city and county took part in the competition in 2017.

If you would be interested in attending the seminar on Wednesday 11 April, please contact Jayne Power or Sinead McDonnell at jayne.power@limerick.ie or sinead.mcdonnell@limerick.ie by Friday 6 April 2018.
