With more than fifty events taking place all across the city and county over the Halloween period, you’ll be spoiled for choice including:
Samhain - Limerick’s Halloween Festival will celebrate local folklore and traditions with Halloween themed events, spooky storytelling, lantern making and Samhain swim in the River Shannon. The festival will culminate in a twilight lantern parade as families gather to watch The Bishop Lady rise once more to roam the streets of Limerick.
Samhain is presented by Lumen Street Theatre and funded by Limerick City and County Council and the Heritage Council of Ireland and takes place between 24 – 26 October in the Medieval Quarter, Limerick City.
Viva La Vida Festival is the first Latin American festival to be held in Limerick City, connecting Latin American and Irish artists through colourful community workshops, live music and dance performances. Vida La Vida Festival is taking place on 25 and 26 October throughout Limerick City.
Limerick’s live scare fest The Scare Factory returns to the chilling surroundings of Cleeve’s Factory between 18 Oct and 3 Nov. Are you brave enough to take a walk into darkness to see what awaits you?
The Lough Gur Samhain Festival on 25 to 29 October is a weekend celebration with storytelling, lantern making and spooky science by the misty shores of Lough Gur.
A scary Halloween night in the woods is what awaits you at the Castleconnell Fright Fest, on 27 October. With ghosts, goblins and witches, scares are guaranteed!
While some Horrid Halloween Kids Camps including a Halloween Lego Workshop and Spooktacular Bugs ’n Slime Lab in King John’s Castle and an Art Camp at the Haunted Hunt Museum mean the children will be occupied for the mid-term break.
