Limerick City and County Council are taking steps to guard against potential flooding with higher than normal high tides forecast across the October Bank Holiday weekend.
Met Éireann advise that the Highest Astronomical Tides (HATs) are expected to be exceeded.
Flood barriers remain in place along the Quays in Limerick City where overtopping is expected. All walkways where flood defences are in place will be closed across the weekend.
Flood protection measures are also in place in Foynes and Askeaton.
Limerick City and County Council crews are on standby to respond to any reported incidents.
The public are advised to take extra care in the vicinity of waterways.
