Fire at site at Brown’s Quay likely to smoulder for number of days

Limerick Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at Brown’s Quay at 19.24 yesterday evening (04 Nov 2019) following reports of an industrial fire.

The blaze was at the old ESB Fisherman’s Weir, which contained old nets and hessian canvas material left following the closure of the ESB facility.

Fire crews remained at the scene until 23.23.

Limerick Fire and Rescue Service would like to inform locals that they are continuing to monitor the site regularly as it is likely to be smouldering for a number of days.
