Do you want to pursue a career in the hospitality sector? The multi award winning Education and Training Centre Roxboro, supported by Limerick City and County Council as part of the Limerick Regeneration Framework Implementation Plan, is now holding open interviews for their January 2018 course schedule.

The centre provides recognised quality assured training for a wide range of courses, including:

  • Bar Skills
  • Hospitality Skills
  • Culinary Skills Level 4
  • Level 2 Diploma in Food & Beverage
  • Restaurant Bar & Barista skills
  • Professional Cookery Level 5
  • Commis Chef Apprenticeship Level 6
  • A new course, Professional Patisserie and Confectionery has also been added to the 2018 schedule.

Since opening its doors in 2014, the Hospitality Education and Training Centre Roxboro has provided over 240 job placements in the hospitality and catering industry.

Courses have a high completion rate at 81%, with 66% of graduates going on to full time employment, and others staying on for further training.

The Centre has recently been recognised at the Chambers Ireland Excellence In Local Government Awards, scooping the promoting economic development award for its role in quality training and job creation.

Previous awards include European Framework for Quality Management (EFQM) Centre of Excellence Award and Hygiene & Standards IASI Hotel Industry Award.

Bernadette Enright, Centre Manager, Hospitality Education and Training Centre said: “Our courses are designed in conjunction with our partners The Irish Hotel Federation (IHF), Licensed Vintners Association and the Restaurant Association of Ireland (RAI).  We deliver the required craft skills that industry require and all our courses are delivered by industry experts.”

Carmel Kirby, Director of Social Development with Limerick City and County Council said: “The council supported Hospitality Education and Training Centre provides a market-led skills training employment programme, meeting the economic and social objectives of the LRFIP plan, of crucial importance to the development of the Limerick city region.”
