Project 9: Enable Local Energy Trading within the DPEB

Connecting energy from buildings and electric vehicles, will not only result in healthier consumers across the EU’s towns and cities, it will also offer support to consumers to get engaged with smart charging arrangements while contributing to manage and balance spikes in digital transport and power networks.

Digital technologies such as Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) can be used to stipulate and enable trading that enforces proportional fairness among participants in this city level co-optimisation of energy and transport.

+CityxChange will examine the use of DLTs as a transaction technology and the impact that real-time traffic and intelligent street and buildings community-level charging monitoring and control will have on the power network.
