Christmas Artisan Fair to take place in Limerick City Centre

Limerick Local Heroes in collaboration with Limerick Traders association are hosting a very special Christmas Artisan Fair on Bedford Row on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of December.

The event will feature 22 local stallholders under a covered marquee offering a host of festive gifts, crafts and food in the heart of Limerick city.

An eclectic mix of goods on offer at the Artisan Fair. Traders have been specially selected from Limerick and it's surrounds based on the quality of their offering. High quality craft, artisan food producers and vendors of delicious food & drink will make the fair a feast for all the senses and a great place to pick up unique locally produced Christmas gifts.

The fair will be in operation from 2pm-8pm on Friday 21st, 12pm-6pm on Saturday 22nd, and 12pm-6pm on Sunday 23rd of December.

Speaking at the launch of the Fair, Nigel Dugdale of Limerick Local Heroes said, "The idea behind this fair was to add something new to the vast array of events happening in our city on the weekend leading up to Christmas. This fair is a 'pilot' scheme, the concept of which is to bring a special festive feel to the city, creating a special Christmas buzz in the city centre. We have pitched this fair at quality artisan traders who create quality products ideal for Christmas shoppers. The spirit of Christmas is very much alive in our city. Our aim is to create something that will be visually special, adding extra value to Limerick's Christmas shopping experience."

The confirmed stallholders for this the weekend fair include a range of quality products offering something for everyone's Christmas stocking. Jewellery, Christmas Wreaths, Festive plants, Bakery, Organic Pizza, ceramics, glass crafts, artisan food, cheeses, natural skincare, sausages and festive meats, books, knitwear, candles and giftwear will all be on offer under a specially erected marquee over the Christmas weekend.

Commenting on the initiative, Padraic Frawley representing the Limerick Traders Association said "We are delighted to have been able to work with the Local Authorities and Limerick Local Heroes to get this off the ground. We are starting small this year but we believe that Limerick has fantastic potential for Christmas fairs located in the city centre. Bedford Row is a super location and the high quality food and goods on offer will compliment Limerick city's potential as a quality Christmas shopping destination. We are delighted to be able to offer a selection of the finest locally produced artisan food and craft and would urge everybody to support their local businesses this Christmas"
