Limerick is home to three of Ireland’s most prestigious third level academic institutions: University of Limerick (UL), Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) and Mary Immaculate College (MIC), which offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes to support the business growth taking place in Limerick.
Limerick produces approximately 6,000 graduates per year in a variety of disciplines including IT, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering and Technology.
62% of 30-34 year olds have completed 3rd level education in Limerick and our graduates stay here with, for example, 63% of LIT grads remaining in the region.
The collaborative cooperation that exists between our 3rd level institutions as they seek to meet business skills is renowned. Two pioneering collaborative talent solution models – Limerick for IT and Limerick for Engineering, have been established in recent years. These programmes are unique skills partnerships between major industry and Limerick’s education providers to increase the quality and quantity of IT and Engineering talent available in the region.
