The dedication to excellence of Shannon Group companies has been reflected again through its nomination for three prestigious national awards.
Launched in 2014, the Aviation Industry Awards are the benchmark for excellence for those demonstrating best practice and innovation in the aviation sector in Ireland, with Shannon Airport shortlisted in both the Airport Retailer Award and the Airport Achievement Award. The airport has a history of success at the Aviation Industry Awards, which encourage Irish individuals and companies in the Irish Aviation industry to continuously strive for excellence.
Separately, a Shannon Commercial Properties’ building has been shortlisted for an Irish Construction Industry Federation Award in the Commercial Project of the Year category. These awards celebrate original and innovative businesses and projects that demonstrate excellence in the built environment. The company’s four-storey office block at Shannon Free Zone, which will shortly house Jaguar Land Rover, is up for the award.
In a little over five years, under Shannon Group’s leadership there has been a record period of continuous investment across Group companies.
Welcoming the nominations Mary Considine, Acting CEO, Shannon Group said: “Our nomination for these awards is recognition of the exceptionally high standards applied by the staff at Shannon. Over recent years we have won national, European and international awards, all reflecting the effort put in by everyone here.”
“We are committed to providing our customers with the very best experience, services and facilities, and since 2014 we have invested over €85 million in a range of customer focused projects. Included in this is a €40 million investment at Shannon Free Zone to provide 21st century business accommodation to entice FDI and indigenous investment. While at the airport, a similar amount has been invested across the airport campus, with enhancements to the Shannon Duty-Free shop, new dining facilities and upgrades to the executive lounges and gate area. So, it is encouraging for us to once again be recognised through these awards."
Since being established in 2014, Shannon Group companies have won over 50 regional, national and international awards.
