Limerick telecoms company Ripplecom becomes part of the Viatel Group

The Viatel Group this week announced the acquisition of fellow Irish telecoms company Ripplecom. Founded in 2009, Ripplecom supplies telecoms and IT security services to many leading Irish businesses and to residential users from their base in Raheen. 

The Ripplecom team are the connectivity powerhouse behind well-known names such as Glanbia, Barry Group and the Department of Education.

The financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed. In 2021, with the acquisition of Ripplecom, the Group is forecasting revenues north of €38 million with a combined customer base of 3,500 businesses and 28,000 homes. 

Ripplecom employ 31 people through their Limerick headquarters. They have been an active and vocal participant in the business scene since 2009. Ripplecom are the official Telecommunication partners of Limerick GAA The company delivers superior telecoms and IT security services to the B2B market and public sector and to many residential customers too.

The Viatel Group is comprised of Viatel partnering with the business sector and Digiweb, providing residential broadband services.
