Thursay 26th May 2016: A Limerick company is among the small businesses that have reached the finals of the National Enterprise Awards next month.

Thousands of small businesses from across the country were supported by Local Enterprise Offices in the Local Authorities Network last year and 32 of those businesses have now reached the National Final which takes place on Thursday, June 9th  at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The nominee for Local Enterprise Office, Limerick is Global Sauce Company, Raheen,  headed by Liam Hayes and Vincent Sheahan, who manufacture standard and bespoke recipe sauces and mayonnaise and employ seven people.

The competition has a prize fund of €40,000 and was set up two decades ago to celebrate Ireland’s small businesses and micro-enterprises.  Representatives from Local Enterprise Office Limerick and Limerick City and County Council will be supporting the Limerick finalists at the Aviva Stadium next month.

Twelve awards will be presented on the night including eight new regional trophies and the overall winner will receive €10,000 to invest in their business.

Former winners have included MyBio, Irish Yoghurts, Innovate, Grouse Recording Studios, Simtech Aviation and Design Pro a Limerick company based in Rathkeale Co. Limerick.
