25. Try your luck at the tote at Limerick Racecourse
From the first recorded fixtures in 1790, racing in Co. Limerick was held in seven different venues, with the last, Greenpark, closing in 1999 after an impressive 130 years of racing.
Today’s course, on 250 acres, carries with it the memories of more than 200 years of racing and is looking forward to creating its own memories for many years to come.
Whether you’re a seasoned race-goer or just curious to see what all the fuss is about, there is a variety of race meetings to suit everyone’s taste, from flat to National Hunt.
And if all this sport has given you an appetite there is also everything from fast food to fine dining to make sure you don’t go hungry.
