Brian Hunt Memorial

Brian Hunt Memorial Golf Competition 2012

Friday 30th March
Rathbane Golf Club, Crossagalla, Limerick

Brian Hunt was born and raised in Limerick City. He is survived by both his parents and his younger brother Cian. Brian’s father (Gabriel) comes from Newcastle West and his mother (Loretta) is from Clare Street, Limerick.

Brian carried a kidney disease called Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis Type 11. In his youth he attended Temple Street Children’s Hospital and tragically died aged 26 in May 2011. Brian’s death was sudden and completely unexpected to his family and friends.

Brian enjoyed an extremely successful career in banking. This started when he was 21/22 years old when he was accepted onto the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Graduate Training Programme. He spent a number of years in Dublin before returning to his native Limerick as a Relationship Executive with Certus (formerly BOSI). His colleagues describe him as intensely loyal and extremely diligent in relation to his work. He was always the last one to leave the office.

A keen sportsman, his participation was restricted for health reasons, but he was an avid supporter of Manchester United and Munster Rugby.

The golf event on Friday 30 March in Rathbane Golf Club will raise funds in Brian’s memory for the Irish Kidney Association. The day will conclude with an evening of music, dancing and more fundraising with an auction and raffle in Patrick Punch Hotel, Limerick.
