Founded in 1999 the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Institute of Ireland is today recognised as the leading body involved in the education of counsellors and psychotherapists in Ireland.

It is solely dedicated to to these areas of professional practice, operating exclusively within the HETAC and FETAC sectors of Irish education and providing programmes leading to awards at Levels 5 - 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

From youth work to dealing with end of life issues these areas of professional practice have taken on a new vision and the role of NCPII in this cannot be underestimated. In July 2010 we extended this role and our contribution to these areas of professional practice with the awarding of 5 new masters programmes by the Higher Education and Training Awards Council of Ireland.

These programmes will commence in September 2010, when we will be offering 3 of these programmes for enrollment, with the following two commencing in September 2011.

Not only is NCPII at the leading edge in the professional and academic education of competent professionals, our lifelong learning department is also at the forefront of continuing professional development, ensuring that the currency value of our graduates qualifications are maintained, providing them with the up to date skills demanded by the highest professional practice standards and equally required by employers.
