The 'Parent News' Limerick Children's Short Story Competition 2012

‘Parent News’ Limerick is delighted to announce the launch of THE ‘PARENT NEWS’ LIMERICK CHILDREN’S SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2012. The competition is open to children aged 8-10 years and will be judged by Limerick Writers’ Centre Board member, Ms. Fiona Clarke Echlin.
1st prize will include publication of the winning story, along with the authors name & picture in the next issue of ‘PARENT NEWS’ LIMERICK, plus vouchers from O’Mahony’s Bookshop & Easons Bookshop, Limerick. Prizes will also be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place positions.
Rules/Conditions of entry:
- There is NO entry fee to enter this competition.
- Short Story entries should be no more than 500 words (to include the Title) on ANY subject matter.
- The competition is open to children aged 8-10 years where writers must be 10 or under on the 13th March 2012.
- Entries should be typed in English in a Microsoft Word document and submitted by email to parentnews@eircom.net
- The NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE AUTHOR SHOULD NOT APPEAR ON THE SHORT STORY ITSELF but on the accompanying email through which the submission will be made.
- In addition to the child’s name and postal address, their age and date of birth should also be included on the accompanying email.
- Please title email submission ‘CHILDREN’S SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2012’.
- Closing date for receipt of entries is 13th March 2012. Each entry must be the original work of the author and the work must not have been published or submitted to any other publication. One entry per child only. Winners will be notified by May 1st 2012.
- The winner’s name, picture & winning short story will be published in the next issue of ’Parent News’ LIMERICK!
