The Mid-West Interfaith Network represents the diverse faith groups in Limerick and its environs including the Catholic, Anglican, Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Baha’i and Zoroastrian traditions among others.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are known as Mormons or Latter-day Saints. The church was established in 1820 by Joseph Smith who is regarded as a modern day prophet tasked with restoring the Christian Church.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick is a 900 year old diocese of about 60 parishes, 18 of which are in the Limerick city area, serving the regions 170,000 Catholics.

Hinduism is one of the world's oldest religions, and has over 900 million adherents worldwide. The Vinayaka Temple holds functions, prayers and religious occasions for Hindus in Limerick.

Judaism is one of the oldest of the world's religions. Jews are found around the world, in all colours and ethnic groups, and can be described as a group of people bound by a way of life.

A Mosque and the Limerick Islamic Cultural Centre is located in Dooradoyle. Muslims can attend Friday Prayers and receive Quran Lessons there.

'The Religious Society of Friends' is the official title. Members first began to be called 'Quakers' soon after the foundation of the Society; this is really a nickname, but is now more commonly used than the official title. The words ‘Friend’ and ‘Quaker’ are interchangeable.

There are Sikh gatherings in various location in Shannon and Limerick.

Zoroastrianism was founded some time before the 6th century BC in Persia (Iran) was formerly among the world’s largest religions. The first religion to follow 'monotheism', the idea of one God, this faith is based on the teachings of the prophet Zarathustra, also called Zoroaster by the Western Civilisation.
