Library Membership

Membership of Limerick City Library is FREE!

Children need to be accompanied by a parent/ guardian to register. On application for membership, adults are required to produce some form identification with their name and address. There are different types of library membership for adults, e.g. book library only or music and book library combined.

Loan Period

Items can be borrowed for two weeks. Items can be renewed (if not required by another library user) either by telephone or over the Internet by logging on to www.limerick.ie and selecting the City Library, and then clicking on the "search library catalogue" icon. To renew online you must first have a pin number assigned to you, to get this pin number just ask a member of staff at the library desk.

Number of Items Allowed Per Person

• Adults who have the book library only membership can borrow up to 6 books at a time
• Adults with the combined music and book membership can borrow up to 6 books and 3 music items.
• Secondary School Students can borrow up to 6 books.
• Children can borrow up to 4 books.
