Speakeasy Jazz Limerick
Calling All Jazz Musicians and Lovers
Speakeasy Jazz, Limerick is a not for profit, cooperative music venture that has been taking place in Limerick city, since mid 2009.The event which is held on the second Thursday of each month in the Shannon rowing club in Limerick, is completely independent of any organization or business. It is an opportunity for Jazz musicians of all sorts to play for music lovers without constraint. Musicians are central to the whole idea, there are no bosses, no bar managers, just a lovely space, where every type of Jazz is welcome to be shared. The venue itself is a beautiful rowing club, over a hundred years old, full of character that juts out over the river Shannon and will provide the perfect setting to enjoy the music.
Since we started we have had some fantastic shows; a Dixieland outfit, a 16 piece Jazz orchestra, an evening where improvised Jazz met spoken word and visual arts, and many more!
We are currently looking for traditional, abstract, progressive, vocal, big band, or any kind of jazz performer who would like to play at the club(from March) in the new year!
If you would like to play or for more information on our gigs contact Niamh or Alona at speakeasyjazzlimerick@gmail.com
join us on speakeasyjazzlimerick/facebook or call 0872182516.
Please feel free to forward this email onto anyone you think may be interested!
